Rev. Dr. David L. Brunswick, Sr. |
Born to Rev. Dr. Freddie and Mrs. Shirley Brunswick, in Queens, New York, Dr. Brunswick is the third of six children.
Educated in the New York public school system, he received his Bachelor of Science degree at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama. He furthered his studies at Colgate Rochester Divinity School, in Rochester, New York receiving a Master of Divinity Degree. He continued his studies leading towards the Doctor of Ministry Degree at the United Theological Seminary of Dayton, Ohio. In 2006, Dr. Brunswick received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the New Freedom Bible College.

Dr. Brunswick began his ministry at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield Gardens, New York preaching his initial sermon in February 1985. He was later ordained in 1992 at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. served as pastor.
Dr. Brunswick, prior to assuming the pastoral duties at the Salem Church has served churches in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Georgia, Baltimore, Maryland, Concord and Charlotte, North Carolina and Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Active in both church and community affairs, Dr. Brunswick has held offices in denominational and community organizations such as Baptist Associations and the NAACP. Dr. Brunswick has developed economic development concerns that have received thousands of dollars in grants.
Dr. Brunswick utilized his skills and experience to enhance his ministry by developing in 2006, the Salem Community Development Corporation designed to help at-risk youth and families.
Dr. Brunswick continues to preach, teach and lecture across the country in areas of non-profit development, ministry to males and at-risk families.
For over 20 years, Dr. Brunswick has been married to the former Ronnelle Coretta Thomas who is also a licensed minister. Pastor and Minister Brunswick are the proud of parents of two children — Danielle LaShawn who resides in South Carolina and their newborn son, David Leroy, Jr. |
